December 18th 2010

FLASH ON, FLASH OFF
I was going out this night and saw these cool icicles on my hanging plant.

to the naked eye the ice looked awesome frozen around the chain and the way the lights gleamed through. The flash does it no justice and neither did taking the picture minus the flash....you'll just have to trust me on this.

December 15th 2010

I was taking a friend home who lives on post and Marcel & I caught a whole deer family eating out.
In this photo below, I swear there are 2 more in the sticks.

This guy was getting ready to chew on the tree.

this guy was staying near the trees so he could run just in case

and this guy was tired of me shooting pictures of him...I think he wanted to cross the road that I was parked on.
There were 5 total deer and it was really cool to see them all out and really close. I was alot closer I am not sure why the camera makes it look like I was far...I was literally pulled off to the side of the road and they were right there.

I saved a wedding cake...

My neighbor got married and she needed some major help.
A friend of hers was doing her wedding cake for free so she agreed, as she came highly recommended. She was going to ask me since I had already done 2 of her sons birthday cakes , but she didn't want to bother me since we were busy packing and organizing with the move.
below are the 2 cakes also from a previous post

My neighbors wedding color was Navy blue to match Her Husband-to-Be's Class A uniform... the cake she received was horrendous and was in need of the trash can...I did what I could the night before the wedding and this was the process.
Yes, those are RED sprinkles on a wedding cake.
I scraped the excess frosting off and applied some frosting before I started taking pictures of the process....Good thing she did not pay for this mess.

I took a trip to Michaels for some help.

I bought ribbon and a few flower picks and edible flowers that I spray dyed blue and then sprinkled darker blue.

Could have left the small flowers off but hey, it was literally an experiment and at least it wasn't red sugar sprinkles.

I hated working with the cream cheese frosting, it was so soft and wouldn't smoothe out for me.

The groom helped with the placement of the flowers, it was the least I could do, since how many grooms really want to be involved with the cake decorating.

The end result...night before the wedding.

Could you imagine a cake with red sprinkles here.

December 8th 2010...still accumulating snow

I've been trying to take pictures everyday, missed a few and I'm sure I will forget some more. Getting really busy with the move.
Its been snowing on and off since the beginning of the month.
Its coming at a nice pace as opposed to the blizzard like poundings we got when we first got here in '08.

December 5th 2010...SNOW DAY SUNDAY

The kids wanted to go out and play so we took 'em to go get snowpants and boots before we set them loose on the playground.

Here's Marky making his trek to the playground.

and the other 2 already there.

WOW... all in 1 shot and they are all looking.

and goofing off too !!!

playing...

My angels, making snow angels...

Ms Bella was watching us from indoors and wanted to join in the fun so Daddy brought her out.

Trying to make a Bella snow angel.

We did warn against yellow snow.

and after a day of fun in the snow, we come in to some hot chocolate.

I ♥ my boys

December 4th 2010

Snowed over night and woke up to alittle sun and a fresh dusting, leaving icicles on the trees.
Tried to get some good shots, but I need a better camera for that.

It's a lot prettier in person.

He looks like a panther on the prowl.

This is the bush by the front porch. He likes to hang out close to the house, he eventually ventured further & now he cruises the neighborhood like he owns the place.

wheres the kitty??? ... good thing he is black.

December 3rd 2010

There was a sunny break today.
You can see icicles beginning to form & the small snow accumulation on my hanging plants.
Plus you can see the snow that was plowed off the roads.

This is the only pic I took for the day.... besides the sun didn't last very long either.

December 2nd 2010

Today we had a significant snowfall and accumulation.
Bella loves ♥ the snow.
The cat Fatty, not so sure yet, we think this is his first Winter.

Some video to show you how funny the animals are in the snow.

The kitty must think that the snow is just a big cold litter box.
It took him a long time to adjust and actually go walk out into the snow.
Do not worry, I did feed the children after this video was shot.
I love watching the animals play with each other as they now do every time they go outside together.

December 1st 2010

After all the rain we were having we finally got some real sticking snow.
woke up in the morning and saw a sheet of white. The kids were so excited and already wanted to make a snowman and we didn't even have enough snow collected.
This is the lake that collected and started to freeze over in my neighbors yard.

This is the bush near the front porch.

The front of the house.

and our lightly dusted tree....
