OUR LAST EVENING IN OUR HOUSE BEFORE WE MOVED WAS DECEMBER 24TH.

WE DIDN'T DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS BECAUSE THE MOVERS WERE GONNA BE AT THE HOUSE EARLY ON THE 26TH.

WE DID GIVE THE KIDS GIFTS THOUGH... & WE HAD AN UNCONVENTIONAL TREE WITH DECORATIONS .....SORT OF.

T'WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS & THE CHILDREN BROUGHT HOME SOME GOODIES FOR SANTAS REINDEER.

BOTH OF THE BOYS BROUGHT HOME BAGS OF OATES

THEY HAD LOTS OF FUN SPREADING THE STUFF AROUND.

AND THEN DUMPING IT BECAUSE THERE WAS SO MUCH.

I LOVE THE ANIMAL TRACKS.

Getting ready to update the blog

I am going to have lots of time on my hands when the kids are all in school.

Plus we just put all our pictures on an external hard drive so I know they are safe and organized.

December 18th 2010

FLASH ON, FLASH OFF
I was going out this night and saw these cool icicles on my hanging plant.

to the naked eye the ice looked awesome frozen around the chain and the way the lights gleamed through. The flash does it no justice and neither did taking the picture minus the flash....you'll just have to trust me on this.

December 15th 2010

I was taking a friend home who lives on post and Marcel & I caught a whole deer family eating out.
In this photo below, I swear there are 2 more in the sticks.

This guy was getting ready to chew on the tree.

this guy was staying near the trees so he could run just in case

and this guy was tired of me shooting pictures of him...I think he wanted to cross the road that I was parked on.
There were 5 total deer and it was really cool to see them all out and really close. I was alot closer I am not sure why the camera makes it look like I was far...I was literally pulled off to the side of the road and they were right there.

I saved a wedding cake...

My neighbor got married and she needed some major help.
A friend of hers was doing her wedding cake for free so she agreed, as she came highly recommended. She was going to ask me since I had already done 2 of her sons birthday cakes , but she didn't want to bother me since we were busy packing and organizing with the move.
below are the 2 cakes also from a previous post

My neighbors wedding color was Navy blue to match Her Husband-to-Be's Class A uniform... the cake she received was horrendous and was in need of the trash can...I did what I could the night before the wedding and this was the process.
Yes, those are RED sprinkles on a wedding cake.
I scraped the excess frosting off and applied some frosting before I started taking pictures of the process....Good thing she did not pay for this mess.

I took a trip to Michaels for some help.

I bought ribbon and a few flower picks and edible flowers that I spray dyed blue and then sprinkled darker blue.

Could have left the small flowers off but hey, it was literally an experiment and at least it wasn't red sugar sprinkles.

I hated working with the cream cheese frosting, it was so soft and wouldn't smoothe out for me.

The groom helped with the placement of the flowers, it was the least I could do, since how many grooms really want to be involved with the cake decorating.

The end result...night before the wedding.

Could you imagine a cake with red sprinkles here.

December 8th 2010...still accumulating snow

I've been trying to take pictures everyday, missed a few and I'm sure I will forget some more. Getting really busy with the move.
Its been snowing on and off since the beginning of the month.
Its coming at a nice pace as opposed to the blizzard like poundings we got when we first got here in '08.
